Production of the newest Transformers movie is in full swing, and director Michael Bay has given us a first look at the cars that will be playing the Autobots in this installment. Even if you’re not a fan of the Transformers franchise as such, these cars are worth a look for any enthusiast.
Optimus Prime comes to the screen this time as a very impressive custom job by Western Star. Six big ol’ exhaust pipes and a flame paint job make this Optimus the coolest yet.
As usual, GM vehicles will make more than one appearance. The much anticipated C7 Corvette Stingray will be among them, with a few race-inspired add-ons. We’ll see Bumblebee return as a Camaro, as it should be, though not without some controversy in the automotive world. Some see a few too many similarities between the new Bumblebee...
... and this one-of-a-kind resto-mod known as “Vengeance”, the work of an Atlanta artist...

In a slight departure from the earlier movies, there are a couple of exotic European characters as well. A dark gray Lamborghini Aventador is sure to impress, though we’ll have to wait until the movie comes out, it seems, to find out which side it will be on. Also of note is a Bugatti Grand Sport Vitesse, recently crowned the world’s fastest convertible. Lastly, the character of Hound will be played by a vehicle that can best be described with its photo:
